Sparkly Mjollnir

I found this at the post office while waiting in line. They currently have a series of dozens of different sheets of stickers, each with a theme so you can make your own greeting cards. There are the usual ones with 'Happy Birthday' and hearts and horses and all, of course... and then there was this. A Danish-Viking themed one, with Danish flags, a Viking with a red and white hat, a tiny ship, and Mjollnir. In a sparkly, shimmery sticker version.

I immediately bought two, of course. I can't say no to sparklies.

Desire of the Gods

First up isn't actually Scandinavian - "Desire of the Gods" is a manga style yaoi I stumbled across on Amazon someday (there are three unrelated stories in the book, 'Desire of the Gods' being the main one)

If you're unfamilar with yaoi, stop right here. Yes, you may look at the pictures but really, don't read on.

The cover. Loki (the redhead) and Balder (the blond with the mistletoe)

The drawing style. Odin (left) and Loki (right). Odin has both eyes, although one's almost constantly hidden by his hair.

For those of you who are familar with yaoi, you probably know what to expect: Loki loves Balder. Balder loves Loki. Odin has standing issues with Loki. Drama, rape, buttsecks, and mistletoe follows.

Some might call it blasphemy. I call it crack. Utter crack.

P.S.: It's so staying on my shelf. It's a good reminder not to take everything serious or personal.

The Purpose of 'Noddie-Oddie'

Living in Denmark, Norse-mythology inspired things are fairly common. To a point, even, where I'll occasionally find items so strange, so funny, or so interesting they had to be shared.

This is what Noddie-Oddie is for.
